freelance webflow designer
😃 Hi there, thanks for stopping by! I'm Matt, and don't worry, this won't be one of those biographies where I talk about myself in the third person.
I'm a freelance Webflow designer who enjoys working with clients and businesses to best showcase themselves online.
When a user visits a business's website, I look at the experience like they're walking into a storefront and being greeted and assisted by an associate.
A well-designed and well-branded website can create an immediate, positive impression, and a good user experience can lead the customer to take action.
With each project, I strive to make sure that users are receiving the kind of experience and impression my client desires.
As a freelancer, I strongly believe each project's success hinges on effective communication, and I take pride in keeping clients regularly updated to ensure all expectations are met.
My background
I have been designing and building websites with Webflow since 2020. After beginning my professional career as a daily newspaper reporter for 5 years, I made the transition to web design and development during the pandemic.
My time in journalism taught me a lot about myself — including that I'm a deadline-oriented person, and that I enjoy learning about new things and sharing them with others.
In transitioning to web design, I've enjoyed using that curiosity and those storytelling skills as I learn about clients' businesses and work with them to best represent it online.
Before transitioning, web design had always been a personal interest of mine, and I've been fortunate to follow that interest down a road of self-learning to successfully run my own freelance business.
I discovered Webflow early on in my journey and fell in love with everything the platform allowed me to do for clients.
As Webflow continues to evolve and grow, I enjoy learning the latest updates and tools that can improve my workflow. I also enjoy actively participating in the Webflow community by giving guidance to beginners or bouncing ideas off of other designers.
... but enough work talk for now
I’m originally from Pittsburgh, PA, (go Steelers!) and went to college at the University of Connecticut. After graduating from UConn with degrees in psychology and journalism, I lived and worked in Connecticut for four years.
After 8 years in New England, I was ready to experience a new region, which led me to move to Charleston, SC, where I now enjoy working remotely.
When I’m not getting my hands dirty in Figma Webflow, I enjoy cooking, going to the beach, taking walks around Charleston with my dog, listening to podcasts, watching sports, being around friends, playing on a recreational kickball team, going to comedy shows, binge-watching good TV shows, learning new hobbies like drawing and surfing, and enjoying a pint of ice cream on the couch.
P.S. Enough about me — click my photo to see pictures of my rescue dog, Bear. He's the real 🌟 of this show.
